E&I Alumni Network Aperitivo

27/05/2021

How are founders, startups and their employees impacted by working from home? What are pitfalls and what are possible opportunities?

Those were questions participants discussed at our E&I Alumni Network Aperitivo, organized by the E&I Club Managers Dominik Sylejmani and Thomas Schmidle on May, 25. E&I Alumni and student Andreas Langes (Payment Operations at Bitpanda), Michael Kowatschev (Initiator of NOVID20, Co-Founder of ThePixelBeat) and Jana Sabel (Founder of Vizzard 360) joined the discussion, together with many other community members.

We debated on the mental challenges when working remotely and on how to scale a team efficiently from home. Further topics were how and whether to keep the job separated from private life, the challenges of selling online, how to set priorities, and how to ensure a cultural integration of new employees into fast-growing and fast-paced teams off- or online. Besides the several difficulties that come with working from home we also explored opportunities like more efficient international collaboration, a faster flow of ideas and overall a more efficient way of working together. Lastly, we touched upon conflict management and how to keep well-established teams motivated for a long time.

It was great to listen to stories and tips from successful E&I alumni and students and we would like to thank everybody for joining us and engaging in the discussion. We are already looking forward to our next get-together on Thursday, July 1st – 6.00 p.m. at our first Community Reunion in person in Vienna (please Save-The-Date).
