E&I Alumni Lunch: Univ.-Prof. Dr. Franke and Barbara Janczer

17/06/2020

Our second E&I Alumni Lunch was a special one: not only because of its scheduled time (it was a late lunch due to the time difference to San Francisco, USA) but also because of our two discussants Prof. Dr. Nik Franke and Barbara Janczer.

The topics of the online discussion ranged from the effects of COVID-19 crisis on the housing market in the Silicon Valley, to agile transformations processes in both education and business. Furthermore, Barbara gave us interesting insights on current visa obstacles and underlined one important key learning from her time in San Francisco: Networking is key, especially in times of crises since “your network is your net worth.”

If you have missed this discussion don´t worry! In addition to the student’s pitches, this semester’s Touchdown (Thursday, June 18th at 5:30 p.m.) will also address the COVID-19 crisis. Impulses for innovations to overcome the crisis are provided in a panel discussion.

Topic: Innovation in Times of Crisis – Challenges and Opportunities

Panelists:

  • H.E. Trevor D. Traina, U.S. Ambassador to Austria

  • Mag. Sandra Gott-Karlbauer, Managing Director at ÖBB TS

  • Dejan Jovicevic, CEO & Co-founder of DerBrutkasten

  • Univ.-Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation WU Vienna

Thank you to everyone who attended the E&I Alumni Lunch!

See you next time (or tomorrow at this year’s Touchdown)
