Speakers:

Bianca Uzun BSc is a health care and nursing practitioner, as well as an expert lactation consultant. She works at the biggest maternity ward in Vienna, and she is also the co-founder of the FB group Moms (ATW) & Kids in Austria, which currently provides advice and support to more than 5,000 soon-to-be moms and mothers living in Austria.

Dr. Yuki Seidler is a public health and migration health researcher. She has authored and co-authored different research publications covering various topics, including Postnatal Acculturative Stress (PAS). More specifically, she has analyzed immigrant mothers’ acculturation behaviors or cultural orientations, and their maternal psychological health in Austria. Dr. Seidler also has practical experience in different international and humanitarian organizations.

Dr. Katharina Mader is an economist at the Women and Family Department of the Chamber of Labour. She is also a researcher at the Institute for Heterodox Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her research focuses on feminist economics, care economy and unpaid work as well as gender budgeting and gender-responsive economic policy.

Description: November 25 is the International Day against Violence against Women and Girls. As part of the campaign "Orange the World", the WU Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations is dedicated to play an active part in supporting women to stay safe and free of violence and inequality. The Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations hosts an event with experts who are well aware of the challenges, invisible violence and inequalities that mothers and working mothers confront in Austria. Each of the panelists will contribute to the discussion with their unique perspective based on their experience as academic researchers, public servants, migration specialists, and health/lactation practitioners.

We will provide professional childcare for a limited number of kids and in a different room, in case parents want to bring their children to the event. While registering, please inform us about the number of kids you will come with and their age!
