A new Africa strategy is in the works and it’s exciting!

Academic Head Christof Miska and Director Dionisi Nikolov of the Competence Center for Emerging Markets & Central and Eastern Europe attended the corporAID Multilogue “Eine Afrikastrategie für Österreich: Perspektiven aus Wirtschaft und Entwicklung”, hosted by ICEP and WKO.

Christof Miska has a keynote on the topic and brought many great impulses to the table, such as:

• The diversity within the continent in culture, ethnicities and language, but also economic growth potential

• The big role of the informal sector in Africa, like entrepreneurs by necessity

• The involvement and standing of Chinese corporations, as well as their way of cooperation

• The importance of cooperating and communicating with African partners at eye level

Among the speakers and attendants were Stefan Scholz, Dietmar Schwank, Daniela Ortiz Avram and Bernhard Weber, as well as ADA, OeEB and the Finanzministerium.
