Martina Huemann is Professor at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business where she heads the Project Management Group in the Department Strategy and Innovation and is the Academic Director of the Professional MBA Program: Project Management. She has published widely in the fields of Project Management and Human Resource Management. For her Research on Human Resource management in Project-oriented Organisations, she received the IPMA Research Award 2015.
Martina Huemann has 20 years of experience in research, teaching and consulting. In research as well as in consulting and teaching she believes in a co-creation process with practitioners and other stakeholders. Martina Huemann has strong links in the research and practice communities, and a broad international network. Between 2006 and 2013 she has served on the Research Management Board of the International Project Management Association. Between 2014 and 2019 she was a member of the Academic Member Advisory Group at Project Management Institute. As an academic advisor of NETLIPSE, she contributes her knowledge to an international network on managing large infrastructure projects in Europe. In Austria she is board member of Projekt Management Austria. Since 2018, Martina serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Project Management, the prime academic journal in the Project Management field. In 2020, she established the new open access journal Project Leadership and Society (Elsevier). She is founder and facilitator of enable2change a network of independent experts to translate strategy into action.
