CV von Aida Hajro

Aida Hajro is a Professor of International Business at the University of Leeds and a Visiting Professor at the Institute for Human Resource Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her research broadly focuses on the intersection of organizations and migration.

She is interested in the transformative role that organizational actors play in shaping migration and migrant experiences—and, conversely, in how migrants actively shape organizations through their interactions and contributions. Aida has a particular interest in the human resource management dimensions of migrant workers, including their selection, development, compensation, and integration.

Aida studies these topics in connection with sustainable development—particularly its social dimensions—as outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including No Poverty, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work, and Reduced Inequalities.

Her work has been published in leading journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Journal of International Business Studies, Human Resource Management, and Human Resource Management Review. She has received several prestigious recognitions, including the Academy of Management Review Outstanding Reviewer Award, the Academy of Management IMD Robert H. Schaffer Award, and the British Academy of Management Award.

Aida serves on the editorial review boards of the Academy of Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Human Resource Management, and Journal of World Business.

She is also the co-founder of Migration, Business & Society, a global research and policy initiative dedicated to advancing migration-related targets within the sustainable development agenda, and a regular contributor to the World Bank Group and the World Economic Forum Agenda.
