IPE Means Success: First Cohort of Politics and Money Specialization

12. Mai 2026

The first cohort of the specialization Politics and Money offered by the IPE has successfully completed the program, marking an important milestone.

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the first cohort of our undergraduate specialization, Politics and Money. Thirty students took our four courses — Politics of Finance, Politics of FDI, Politics of Trade, and Politics of Debt — and rose to the challenge. Across the specialization, they identified original research questions, produced podcasts and short videos, wrote speeches, policy memos, op-eds, and press releases, and above all, developed the critical thinking skills needed to make sense of our complicated world. You can see fantastic examples of these students’ work on our website and social media channels.

Launching a new specialization is no small undertaking, and completing this first cohort is a milestone for our team. The variety of outputs students produced reflects our commitment to combining rigorous political economy with practical skills, preparing undergraduates not just to analyze current events but also to engage with them. Most of all, we are grateful to the students who chose our specialization and embraced our new teaching methods and pedagogical approach.

Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome a larger second cohort, expand our offerings, and continue building on what we have learned from this first year.
