06/12/2016

The Institute for Managing Sustainability held a guest lecture on December 5, 2016 with Daniel Truran on the subject of "Business Unusual - How to successfully embed social purpose in their business models".

Daniel Truran is a Visiting Professor of Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship at the Instituto Empresa and the EOI Business School. He is also active in a variety of other positions, including Communications Director at B Lab Europe, Director General of the ebbf association, co-founder of Business Incubator Impact Hub Madrid, and jury member of a prestigious Entrepreneurship Award, Stanford University Social Entrepreneurship E-Challenge.

By means of case studies, Daniel Truran explained the possibilities for the concrete implementation of concepts, such as social entrepreneurship and business model innovation. He focused, in particular, on challenges and success factors that can be decisive for the integration of social responsibility and profit orientation. For example, he introduced the B Corporation movement, a worldwide network of approximately 1.500 companies that define entrepreneurial success as achieving positive social impact.
