Mission

Why?

The goal of the WU Entrepreneurship Center is to show how starting a business can open up attractive perspectives for careers and personal development. We promote, develop, and celebrate entrepreneurship, i.e. the entrepreneurial mindset, and innovation as key skills for the 21st century.

What?

  • We create spaces for developing and strengthening an entrepreneurial can-do attitude among WU students, faculty, and administrative staff members.

  • We reach out to people and support them and their initiatives. Our activities help a growing number of people to identify new opportunities, trust in their own ability to develop new solutions, and become entrepreneurs.

  • We are the first point of contact for people interested in innovation, and a hub for initiatives – both within and outside the university –, organizations, and businesses focusing on entrepreneurship. In this capacity, we provide support and assistance for the implementation of innovative projects.

In this way, the WU Entrepreneurship Center helps to develop the full potential of university-affiliated start-ups in Vienna and strengthens WU’s position as a modern educational institution strongly involved in the process of innovation.

How?

Our activities are based on four pillars: inspiration, information, networking, and support. We are working closely with start-ups and non-academic initiatives and organizations, which gives our visitors the opportunity to learn from real-world experiences and challenges encountered by entrepreneurs.

Who?

The academic head of the WU Entrepreneurship Center team is Nikolaus Franke. It consists of a core team, led by Rudolf Dömötör and is supported by a group of students, known as the WUnderteam. All team members are open-minded, curious, and motivated and share a keen interest in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation. The same holds for our cooperation partners. These qualities allow us to work together smoothly, efficiently, and with a strong focus on solutions.
