Welcome back to campus! Featuring WU wheelchair view photos by Evelyn Brezina

27/09/2021

We are delighted to start into the new academic year featuring the work of an incredible photographer and person. . .

The new semester is around the corner, and we could not be happier to welcome everyone back to campus through the eyes of the photographer Evelyn Brezina. Evelyn visited our university for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Her pictures are undoubtedly eye-openers to many – all taken from the height of Evelyn’s wheelchair.

This is how Evelyn described herself and her work to us:

I'm a 44 year old woman who sits in an electric wheelchair due to brittle bones and has had the outstanding opportunity to take photos of your university’s campus. I promise you, there's a lot to discover! . . . [To students] I wish I had your health to reset my life and study like you but what I CAN do is see the beauty that surrounds us, whether created by nature or by human genius. So have a wonderful time, lots of success and be inspired!”

In Evelyn’s work, inclusion and sustainability are inseparable. Inspired by this vision, we asked her to share her pictures via STaR social media channels and are truly grateful that she agreed to take over our Facebook site in early October.

Say tuned! We’ll also share her posts on our LinkedIN channel and eventually, on our website.
