Berta Terzieva is predoctoral research assistant at the Institute for Nonprofit Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She is part of the Civic Life of Cities Lab, which examines civil society and nonprofit organizations in cities.

She studied Sociology at the University of Vienna and Socioeconomics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Berta was junior researcher in the Higher Education Research Group at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna. Her research at IHS focused on the social and economic conditions of students and underrepresented groups in higher education, such as students with health impairments and disabilities.
