Roman Rudenko, MA

Roman Rudenko is a pre-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Nonprofit Management and Governance. He previously studied political science (University of Vienna and University of Bologna) and worked in various academic fields. His positions include the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip), the Sociological Association of Ukraine, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the University of Vienna and the Danube University Krems. He worked with topics like civil society engagement as a reaction to the Russian war of aggression, participatory and deliberative democracy at municipal level, processes of labour market integration of refugees and the crisis resilience of cooperatives.

His current research probes into nonprofits’ role in fulfilling denizens’ expressive needs in collaborative local governance.
