Alba D'Aniello, PhD

Alba D’Aniello is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Marketing & Consumer Research at WU.

Before joining WU, she worked at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, where she obtained her PhD in Management and held roles as Adjunct Faculty and Executive Director of the X.ITE Research Centre on Technologies and Market Behavior. From 2024 to 2026, she was a Research Fellow at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, where she contributed to the funded PRIN 2022 project Made in Italy & Sustainable Development, with a focus on sustainable luxury consumption.

Her research lies at the intersection of consumer behavior, sustainability, and transformative consumption. She is particularly interested in how consumers interpret sustainability-related signals and respond to technological and societal change. Methodologically, she primarily uses experimental approaches to investigate consumer decision-making and responsible choices.

Her work has been published in journals including Marketing Letters and Business Strategy and the Environment. She is also co-author of the monograph Aesthetics and Sustainable Luxury Consumption (Palgrave Macmillan).

She has taught at undergraduate, graduate, and MBA levels, primarily in the areas of Marketing, Research Methodology, and Retail Management.
