Books that are not available at WU or any other university library in Vienna may be ordered from other libraries as inter-library loans. Journals are not available for inter-library loan, but copies of individual articles can be requested through the document delivery service.
Search the Austrian Library Network Search Engine to make sure that the book is not available at any university library in Vienna before placing an order for an inter-library loan.
Loans within Austria are subject to a charge of € 2,- per book, while loans from outside Austria cost a minimum of € 10,- per book, depending on the fees charged by the issuing library.
Delivery times / Pick-Up
You will be notified when the book arrives. Allow for a delivery time of at least two weeks. Inter-library loans can be collected and returned at the library front desk from Mon-Fri, 9am-7pm. The conditions of the issuing library apply, meaning that the length of the loan period may vary.

How do I order books which are not available in the WU Library via inter-library loan?
1. To order books via inter-library loan you need a valid WU library card.
2. Open the WU catalog: katalog.wu.ac.at
3. Log in to the catalog using your your WU library ID.
4. Click Inter-Library Loans.
5. Fill in the order form and confirm by clicking Order.
You will be notified via email as soon as the ordered book has arrived.
Inter-library loans can be collected and returned at the library front desk from Mon-Fri, 9am-7pm. WU staff receive the books via in-house mail.
The conditions of the issuing library apply, meaning that the length of the loan period may vary.
Where can I see the list of books I have ordered via inter-library loan?
Log in to your library account and choose Requests.
The list contains the books which you have ordered via inter-library loan.
