We have compiled the most important information about using the library for you.

LOCATIONS & ORIENTATION
LIBRARY CARD
FINDING, BORROWING, AND RETURNING BOOKS
  • Most of our books are available in open stacks, which means you can take the book you want from the shelf yourself. You can see which books, eBooks, journals, etc. are available in the library via the WU Catalog.

  • You can borrow books yourself at the self-service checkout machines and return them using the self-service return machine located to the right of the entrance to the Central Library.

COURSE LITERATURE FOR WU STUDENTS
  • The textbook collection provides basic literature and introductory works. Part of the printed textbook collection is located in the Central Library (LC) on level 3. Legal textbooks can be found in the Library for Law (D3) next to the front desk. In addition, many of the textbooks are also available as eBooks.

  • WU students can check the syllabus for their courses to see which literature is important for their courses. The read!t tool provides direct access to eBooks, electronic articles, and other online sources used in the course. For printed books, the location in the library and current availability are displayed.

ACCESS TO E-RESOURCES
  • As a WU student or WU employee, you can also access the majority of electronic resources from home or on the go. Just make sure to activate your VPN connection.

  • For external library users, remote access to electronic resources from outside the WU Campus is not possible for licensing reasons. You can access nearly all eResources on site at the PCs in the libraries. Members of an organization participating in eduroam can also access eResources with their own computer in the library.
