Verena Madner and Stefan Mayr won an Innovative Teaching Award 2021 for the design of the course “International and European Law, Institutions and Governance”. The award recognises innovative teaching designs that implement new ideas and approaches in university teaching and learning. This year's focus was on designs enhancing “Seamless Learning”.

The course is taught in the Master’s Program Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy (SEEP). It introduces students to key issues of European and international law, institutions and governance, drawing on a wide range of current complex “real world” problems, which are relevant in the context of socio-ecological policies and transformations. Among others, these include efforts to mitigate climate change, global trade governance or the Brexit negotiations.

You can find a detailed description of the teaching design here.
