The panel discussion brought together six guests from academia and practice to discuss key current and future issues in distribution research. Moderated by Karin Heitzmann, the discussion began with an introductory question: Which current research topics in the field of social and economic inequality should be addressed at INEQ in the coming years?

Each of the invited speakers began by briefly outlining key perspectives, challenges and research needs. Building on this, an exchange developed on the podium in which both different theoretical approaches and practical experiences from civil society and policy-oriented contexts were discussed. Comments and questions from the audience were then included in the discussion.

The discussion was accompanied by Daniela Ekl in the form of a graphic recording. The resulting visual protocol makes the central lines of argumentation, positions and points of reference of the discussion clearly comprehensible and shows how diverse the approaches to the question of distributive justice are today.

The graphic recording was presented in the forum at the end of the event and offered participants the opportunity to revisit individual ideas, deepen connections and note down further questions.
