Quality of Life and domiciliary care

Development of an outcome toolkit for Caritas Wien

The aim of the project was to develop an outcome measure in cooperation with long-term care managers of the Caritas Vienna, one of the leading home care providers in Vienna. The tool built on the experiences with ASCOT, a long-term care outcome toolkit developed in England that allows for measuring the quality-of-life-effects of long-term care. For the first time, the toolkit was adapted to the setting of domiciliary care by combining an observational instrument with guidelines for interviews. An electronic version was also implemented.
