About Us

FSW

The WU Research Institute for the Economics of Aging was founded within the framework of a long-standing cooperation between the City of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. It started its work in September 2006 and is financed by third-party funds.

The staff of the WU Research Institute for the Economics of Aging deals with socio-economic and socio-political issues of societal aging that are relevant for the future.

Our current focus lies on measuring the quality of life of people receiving long-term care and on recording the quality of life of family caregivers, evaluating new technologies for older people and evaluating the digitalization of long-term care.

Since 2020, interested individuals and organizations can obtain licenses from us for the German-language version of ASCOT (Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit).

The WU Research Institute for the Economics of Aging received object funding from Wiener Gesundheitsförderung gemeinnützige GmbH in 2009-2015. Since March 2015, the WU Research Institute for the Economics of Aging has been funded by the Vienna Social Fund (FSW).
