Responsibilities of the WU University Archives

The WU University Archives is responsible for preserving the administrative and academic records of the Imperial Export Academy, the University of World Trade, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business, including written, visual, audiovisual, and digital documents. It analyzes these materials and ensures their long-term availability.

The services of the WU University Archives are aimed at WU faculty, staff, and students, as well as the general public. When providing information and documents, we always ensure compliance with all applicable privacy and archiving regulations.

The WU University Archives was established in 2015. Its activities are still to some degree a work in progress. It keeps the historical records related to WU’s history and provides pre-archival advisory services to WU’s academic and administrative units to prepare transfers of both existing and future records to the WU University Archives collection, including digital or digitized documents.

The WU University Archives also participates in research projects aimed at investigating specific aspects of WU’s history.

The WU University Archives is happy to accept donations of documents from the collections or estates of people or institutions who are or were in some way connected to WU, the University of World Trade, or the Imperial Export Academy. If you would like to offer any such donations to the archives, please contact archiv@wu.ac.at.
