20/11/2020

This online session was organized by our colleagues at the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development. . .

The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE Vienna) recently organized the online session “SDGs Labs - joint forces between academia and business” on 24 November 2020 at 15:00-16:30 CET, as part of the Europe Regional RCE Meeting 2020 with the theme “Climate Emergency: Joined-up Action”.

The team of the SDGs Labs project introduced the project and what it meant to work not only across different European countries, but also with very diverse partners: in SDGs Labs we work as a team of universities, businesses and NGOs and put all our expertise together to boost the implementation of the SDGs in the European agribusiness and food production sector. After this input, an open discussion followed on how to bridge academic theory and daily business practice if we want to push the SDGs forward. The following international experts joined the panel discussion:

  • Prof. Dr. Marco Rieckmann (University of Vechta, Germany)

  • Mag. Johanna Bernhardt (Terra Institute, Italy & Coordinator of the RCE Euregio Tyrol)

  • Dr. Christian Rammel (Head of the RCE WU Vienna, STaR Competence Center, Austria)

  • Mr. Dejene Tezera (Director, DTA/AGR/OD, UNIDO)

The session was moderated by Danijela Grubnic, coordinator of the project SDGs Labs.
