STaR's international presence at ASEAN Malaysia 2025. . .

Malaysia’s International Conference on Governance and Integrity was held on 15 July, with a focus on SDG16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. Organised by the Prime Minister’s Department (Legal Affairs Division), the event was held in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the International Anti-Corruption Academy (based in Laxenburg, Austria). The conference was also a key initiative under Malaysia’s 2025 chairmanship of ASEAN, the regional organisation comprising 10 Southeast Asian nations.

The event served as a high-level global platform for dialogue, bringing together policymakers, corporate leaders, and governance experts from academia to explore practical strategies for strengthening institutional accountability. Milda Zilinskaite from STaR participated as an invited panelist in the session titled "Private Sector Accountability: Driving Integrity in Business Practices," sharing research-based insights on the role of ethical leadership and a sustainability focus in corporate governance and the ESG framework.

A highlight reel from the conference is available via a post by Minister for Law and Institutional Reform, Azalina Othman Said, here.
