About

Judith Kohlenberger is a cultural scientist and migration researcher at the Institute for Social Policy at WU Vienna, where she researches and teaches refugee migration, integration and belonging. In fall 2015, she was involved in one of Europe's first studies on the large refugee movement. Her work has been published in international journals, including International Migration, PLOS One, Refugee Survey Quarterly and Health Policy, and was awarded the Kurt Rothschild Prize 2019 and the City of Vienna Sponsorship Award. She teaches in the bachelor's program "Sustainable Business for Lawyers" and at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences. She is currently leading several research projects at the Institute for Social Policy. 

She is a member of the Integration Council of the City of Vienna, a founding member of COURAGE: Courage for Humanity and is committed to ensuring that scientific findings are taken into account in public discourse and political decisions in the Discourse Science Network. She is also a board member of the Schumpeter Society Vienna, the Counseling Center for Migrants and the Austrian Society for European Politics (ÖGfE).
