Bachelor’s Thesis Opportunity
Topic: The Concept of Timelessness in Design
For an ongoing project, we are offering a Bachelor’s thesis on the topic “The Concept of Timelessness in Design” and are looking forward to working with motivated students who would like to explore this exciting subject with us.
The thesis topic is clearly pre-structured and embedded in a larger project. This means you will not be developing an open topic, but will work within a clearly defined research question and structure.
What is the thesis about?
A central component of the thesis is conducting 20 to 30 short interviews (approx. 30 minutes each) with designers or students from different design disciplines, in particular:
· Product Design
· Interior Design
· Fashion Design
· Graphic Design
It is important that several of these fields are represented in order to gain diverse perspectives on the topic.
Who we are looking for (essential criterion)
This thesis is aimed at students who
· already have broad contacts within the design community, or
· are strongly motivated to actively and independently build such contacts (e.g. by directly approaching designers, studios, or labels).
This willingness is an essential prerequisite for successfully completing the thesis.
In addition, we value:
· Reliability and a careful working style
· Initiative and openness in communicating with interview partners
· Strong communication skills and engagement
· High proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
What we offer
· A clearly structured and well-defined topic
· Integration into an ongoing project
· Close and supportive supervision
· Methodological guidance for conducting and analysing interviews
Practical details
· A prompt start of the Bachelor’s thesis is desired
· The goal is a quick transition into the fieldwork phase (interviews)
