Research Visit by Patrick Haack

10/09/2026

This June, we had the pleasure of welcoming Daniel L. Gamache from the University of Georgia—Terry College of Business—to our institute.

During his visit, he shared insights from his exciting ongoing research on CEO leadership and offered valuable advice to help our Ph.D. students become productive scholars.

Key takeaways from his talk:

  • Productivity is personal— Everyone has a unique rhythm. Understanding our own work patterns and energy cycles is essential to maximizing productivity and producing our best work.

  • The introduction can make or break a paper— In academic writing, a strong introduction is critical. It’s often the deciding factor between advancing to the review stage or facing early rejection.

  • Mastering responses to reviewers— Learning to address comments and respond effectively to reviewers is a crucial skill that sets successful scholars apart.

Thank you, Danny, for your inspiring talk and valuable insights for the PhD students. We look forward to reconnecting at future conferences and visits!
