SBWL Responsible Management of Information Systems

The SBWL Responsible Management of Information Systems provides students with essential IT knowledge that every manager needs in today’s digital enterprises. It is designed for aspiring students who want to complement their business skills with IT expertise and understand how to use technologies like artificial intelligence responsibly. Students will learn to design and work with digital systems that emphasize ethical, sustainable, and social aspects. The curriculum combines core topics in information systems with a strong focus on digital responsibility, preparing students to critically assess the societal impact of technology. Through hands-on projects, real-world case studies, and interactive classes, students gain both the technical competence and the ethical mindset needed to shape digital transformation in organizations. Whether aiming for a career in IT management, consulting, or digital innovation, this program equips students with the tools to become responsible leaders in a data-driven world.

The SBWL consists of one foundational course (K1), and four advanced courses (K2-K5). Out of these four, course 2 (K2) is mandatory for all students. The courses 3 to 4 (K3-4) are electives organized into five pillars. Students may switch between courses of these pillars as they wish. A multitude of options is offered for course 5 (K5) which are organized as seminars guiding students to write a seminar paper.
