The SBWL is divided into 3 parts:

• Compulsory part (basic course, course 2)

• Elective part (K3, K4 - you can choose between Value-based Engineering I+II, Human-Centered System Design I/II, E-Marketing I/II (only takes place in summer semesters), Business Programming I/II (only takes place in winter semesters), Governance, Regulation, Compliance (K3) and Responsible Conceptual IS Modelling (K4))

• RMIS Seminar (K5)

Business Administration courses are coordinated study programmes comprising 10 semester hours and 20 ECTS credits. The number and choice of SBWLs to be completed depends on the chosen degree programme(s).

To be able to start with SBWL, you must

in BaWiso 23:

• have successfully completed the STEOP

• have successfully completed at least 20 ECTS from the CBK including "Financial Statements and Company Reports", "Mathematics" and "Statistics"

in BaWire 23:

• have successfully completed the STEOP

• have successfully completed the subjects "Statistics", "Financial Statements and Company Reports" and 2 courses of your choice of 4 ECTS each in Business Administration or Mathematics or Macroeconomicsn

in BBE:

• have successfully completed the "Introductory an Orientation Phase"

• at least 42 ECTS credits from the "Main Programme Phase" (excl. "Academic Skills")

In agreement with the VR Lehre und Studierende and the ÖH-WU, the entry into the SBWL Responsible Management of Information Systems (RMIS) will be carried out according to the following, transparent rules from the summer semester 2016: all students in the Business Information Systems major are sorted in descending order by the number of WI-CBK units completed (students with more WI-CBK units are ranked ahead of those with fewer WI-CBK units), all students without WI-CBK-LVs and Incomings, here the order of registration applies ("first-come-first-serve").

The first 120 students from this ranked list of ET "Access to Specialization: Responsible Management of Information Systems" will receive the status "successfully attended".

Only students with the status "successfully attended" have the possibility to enroll in one of our four offered basic course 1 LVs afterwards, as soon as the registration for it is opened!

You must first successfully complete the basic course (Basics of ICT & AI). The remaining courses can then be completed in any order.

Students can register regularly via LPIS for a basic course (three German courses, one English course) on a ‘first come - first serve’ basis.

Courses 2-4 can be attended in any order. The research seminar (K5) should be attended at the end.

A total of 4 specialisation courses must be attended. Students can choose which ones they would like to complete. Mixing between the courses is also possible, but not recommended.

Yes, if contrary to expectations the basic course is not completed successfully, the registration for the ET ‘Einstieg in die SBWL: Responsible Management of Information Systems’ must be repeated in the next semester.

Advanced course 5 (VK5, ‘Course 5’), a course in which you have to solve problems as independently as possible using the knowledge acquired in SBWL RMIS. The character of VK5 is that of a seminar, which builds on the knowledge acquired in GK and VK 2, 3 and 4. We therefore strongly recommend that you only attend VK5 once you have successfully completed all the previous LVs!

The seminars are initially activated with 10 course places, 5 places are reserved for cases of hardship. After the end of the registration period, the VR for Teaching and Students will rank the waiting list places based on the progress of your studies (hardship regulation) and allocate them to the reserved course places.

Is it still possible to attend the course and re-enrol later when I have completed the other courses?

No, this is not possible. Students must fulfil the requirements to be able to register via the system.

Completion as an elective is only possible for CBK courses, not for SBWL.

If the registration deadline has already expired, the secretariat may not cancel the registration, but only the responsible lecturer or only with the written consent (e.g. by e-mail) of the lecturer.

If you are unable to register via the system, you most likely do not fulfil the requirements for attending the respective course. Please ask the examinations department about this. If you have demonstrably fulfilled all the requirements and are still unable to register, please contact our office.
