By cooperating with industry partners, we @IMSM pursue three main objectives:
1. Conduct research of practical relevance based on state-of-the-art scientific methods to support marketing decision-making (e.g., through joint research projects)
2. Practice-oriented teaching (e.g., through guest lectures, study projects, joint courses, joint bachelor & master theses)
3. Recruiting of top students for companies
Types of Collaborations
We offer our industry partners a range of options to support their evidence-based marketing decision-making. Depending on the project goal, different types of collaborations are possible.
Bachelor & Master Theses
Practice-oriented theses offer an easy way to get into applied research. Together, we will define a tailor-made research problem, which our bachelor or master students then work on (supported by a supervisor @IMSM).
This gives students the opportunity to implement what they have learned during their studies, while our industry partners obtain a theoretically and methodologically sound solution to their research problem.
Guest Lectures & Joint Courses
Another way to cooperate with us is through guest lectures or joint courses that are designed to solve challenges presented by the industry partner. We will define project goals and research questions together, such that a group of students can work on a solution as part of the course. Both, students and practice partners, really appreciate being able to deal intensively with a current problem from marketing practice for a whole semester.
As an industry partner, such courses enable you to get to know and make direct contact with excellent graduates of our courses.
Applied Research & Consulting Projects
IMSM does not want to conduct research from the ivory tower. Instead, we aim to solve problems that companies actually have! We're working on a lot of cool projects that range from targeting decisions in online advertising to the effects of ad viewability on ad effectiveness to budget allocation in real-time bidding, and the effects of TV advertising on online shopping behavior.
