Track 1: Education in the Metaverse: What, why, and how?
Immersive learning experiences with virtual reality and augmented reality are becoming more prevalent in laboratory research settings. Sure, the results are promising, but will they transfer to the everyday classroom? What factors influence learning and what do teachers need to know about the technology to really use it as a benefit for their classes? How could we combine immersive learning experiences with traditional educational approaches, media and methods? Join me on a story about a century-old education system being confronted with technologies that require a paradigm shift in the way we think about teaching and learning.
