Non-traditional Students. Transition and Resilience

01/03/2021

Basic research project funded by the OeNB Anniversary Fund

This project examines the resilience of non-traditional students. The study focuses on various degree programs with an emphasis on technology. A new resilience concept is being developed that, based on Bourdieu's theory, focuses on the interaction between students and the academic fields. Participants in working groups (students, tutors, teachers) are being studied.

The following research areas are being addressed: interaction between the habitus of non-traditional students and the field, educational risks and dropout rates, resilience, and student working groups. A longitudinal study with a mixed-methods approach is being conducted.
