Milena Nagengast completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Maribor, Slovenia. She studied at the University of Vienna and holds a degree in International Business Administration as well as in English and American Studies. During her studies, she worked with the Austrian Student Union in the Office of Social Affairs and with the Austrian Chamber of Labor. Before joining the University of Economics and Business in October 2015, she worked as a teacher of English and English Business Communication at a business school (‘ Handelsakademie’ ) in Vienna. Currently, she teaches Business Studies and Accounting in the ‘ Berufsmatura’ with the Volkshochschule Vienna and English Business Communication at the University of Economics and Business.

Research Interests

Milena Nagengast’s research interests include English as a medium of instruction at tertiary level and in the linguistic analysis of financial disclosure. In her current research which forms part of her PhD dissertation she focuses on communication between companies and (potential) investors and creditors. The methodological approaches she applies are discourse analysis, in particular genre analysis, and corpus analysis.
