Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding allows creative individuals to receive funding for their ideas and start-ups from a large number of investors. Even though the individual investments are rather small, the accumulated investment can be substantial. Crowdfunding is an alternative or complementary form to traditional forms of entrepreneurial funding such as business angels or venture capital.

Current projects tackle the following research questions:

  • What roles do crowd investors play that go beyond funding?

  • What factors may explain different roles of crowdinvestors?

  • What factors may explain the intent of individuals to become crowd investors?
