The WU Foundation is governed by a board of directors, a supervisory board, and an advisory board. These bodies determine, review, and deliberate the ways in which the funds at the disposal of the WU Foundation are to be used, following a state-of-the-art governance model that is firmly based on transparency.

The members of the board of directors and the supervisor board are identical to the members of WU Vienna’s Rector’s Council and University Board, respectively. This makes it easier to ensure the close collaboration that is needed between the governing bodies of the WU Foundation and the governing bodies of WU Vienna. It also guarantees high levels of transparency and close alignment between the WU Foundation’s activities and WU Vienna’s scope of responsibilities and operations, as specified in the Austrian Universities Act. Both WU Vienna and the WU Foundation follow strict ethical guidelines in everything they do.
