The Possibilists 2023: Cooperation between the ChangemakerXchange gGmbH and the Social Entrepreneurship Center

The Possibilists is a global project, which aims at giving a voice to young social innovators called “Changemakers”. The study wants to understand their processes, special needs and existing networks. This work should help to identify certain concepts and challenges to find out what these social innovators need to maximize their impact.

Background

The study was first conducted in 2021 with the help of a broad network of 16 support organizations for social innovation. 791 people between the age of 16 and 35 from 127 different countries have been part of the study in this first iteration. The resulting primary dataset gives important insights into the challenges and wishes of young and impactful innovators. The final report can be accessed for free on the project website of The Possibilists. The plan is to follow up on this global report bi-annually. Additionally, regional reports are going to be created to better account for geographical differences. A European version has already been published with other regions to follow in the upcoming years.

Purpose of the collaboration

As part of the cooperation, the Social Entrepreneurship Center supports the implementation of the Possibilist Survey 2022/2023 through the scientific design, technical implementation and explorative analyses of the study. The survey took place between February and March 2023. The report was published in June 2023 and aims to provide insights into the achievements, resources and needs of young social innovators. The full report can be read here.
