Coaching of the volunteer strategy of Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna

Volunteering has changed considerably in many respects over the past decades. This concerns the motives of volunteers, their involvement in organisations, the time frame and the way volunteers are recruited. All this means that volunteer management is becoming more important in organisations. Organisations need to consider how to recruit and retain volunteers and how to align the organisation's goals with those of the volunteers.

Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna has also been working intensively on its volunteer strategy in recent years and has used various (survey) tools in the process. We accompanied the volunteer strategy process in the years 2015-2020 on the one hand through active participation in the strategy meetings and on the other hand through support in the implementation and evaluation of various surveys (e.g. regular questioning of former volunteers), expert advice in the planning of expert conferences for volunteer coordinators.
