Position at IIB

Kathrin is a Senior Scientist (post doc) at IIB. She earned her doctoral degree in 2021 at the same institute. Her dissertation used insights from behavioral economics to analyze foreign direct investment decisions under risk (title: Prospect theory’s bias of prior success: when and how does it affect risk-taking in foreign direct investment?). Kathrin also teaches behavioral economics within the specialization for which she received the Innovative Teaching Award in 2021.

Research interest

Kathrin’s research interests lie at the intersection of behavioral economics and international business. She is especially interested in the influence of heuristics and biases on internationalization decisions.
