Call for Papers

The 2023 Illinois International Accounting Symposium will be held jointly with Vienna University of Economics and Business.

In departure from previous experiences, this symposium will have the theme of “Application of Big Data in International Accounting Research.” However, innovative papers on other subjects will also be welcome. Submitted papers must have not been published or submitted elsewhere.

Papers accepted for presentation at the symposium will be published in The International Journal of Accounting, subject to satisfactory revisions and a review by one reviewer. The symposium will cover the cost of travel and lodging for one speaker per paper (up to $2,000 based on receipts at economy fare and the conference room rate).

Deadline for submission: December 31, 2022
Decision date: March 1, 2023

Submit articles to The International Journal of Accounting here, and enter “2023 Symposium Submission” in the comments section of the new submission form.

The Illinois International Accounting Symposium started in 1967 at the University of Illinois with the goal of fostering accounting research in international settings. Since 2003, the symposium has been held abroad in collaboration with other universities to help benefit by the talents of scholars in different regions of the world.
