Course "International Corporate Governance (Introduction and Cases on How to Steer Companies)"

A big thank you to Hari Nair, Associate Director at KPMG India, for his insightful guest lecture on “AI Governance in Practice” as part of our Bachelor-level International Corporate Governance course at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business.

The session gave our WU and international exchange students, with backgrounds in business, management, and finance, a practical perspective on key challenges organizations faces when governing AI, including accountability, the Three Lines, model validation, human oversight, third-party AI, and the transition from experimentation to production.

The discussion also highlighted the trade-offs between risk, control, innovation, and implementation costs, and led to an engaging exchange on organizational ownership, shadow AI, and the practical challenges of embedding AI governance into business processes.

It was a highly valuable session, and we sincerely thank Hari for sharing his practitioner insights and experience with our students.
