Media & Learning Conference 2026: Media-Based Assignments at WU

Presentation of new ways to use the FLEX Studios for Media-Based Assignments in the age of AI

Under the theme “Co-creating the future of learning,” the Media & Learning Conference took place in Leuven, Belgium, from June 17 to 18, 2026. The event brought together experts from various fields to present and discuss innovative approaches of forward-looking teaching and learning methods.

During the conference, Corinna Stiefelbauer delivered a presentation on behalf of WU, showcasing the university's Future Learning Experience Centre and its innovative, media-based assignments. She introduced a support concept for instructors that combines the self-service use of the Media Studios with a structured advisory and support framework. This model allows instructors to easily use media-based assessment formats instead of traditional assignments, which is a particularly relevant approach given the current challenges posed by generative AI.
