Summer Semester 2026 / Padl.me

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Padl.me is a B2B start-up created for padel, the fastest-growing racket sport in the world. We install smart cameras on the courts of partner clubs, so every match is recorded automatically and reaches players within seconds through a simple QR code, with no app or registration. For players, a match becomes content to rewatch and share; for clubs, it is a way to stand out, strengthen their community, and earn more from each visit.

Goal

Our goal was to build a community-based padel brand that takes advantage of the current padel boom and gives players and clubs a better, more social experience. Padel is played in doubles and social by nature, yet clubs compete mainly on price and location, and players have no easy way to capture and rewatch their matches together. We wanted to close this gap: helping clubs differentiate themselves and create new revenue, while giving players more joy, connection, and shareable content.

Methodology

We followed the Lean Startup method by Eric Ries, improving the project week by week through continuous build-measure-learn cycles. The foundation was direct customer contact: 13 semi-structured interviews with players and three in-depth conversations with club owners from P3X Tulln, Smash, and Padelzone. These helped us validate our hypotheses and pivot the product. Players valued shareable content and the social experience far more than advanced AI analysis, so we postponed AI features and focused the MVP on reliable recording and easy sharing. We also built a Business Model Canvas across several iterations, a financial model, a competitor analysis, and a TAM, SAM, and SOM market analysis. In parallel, we ran social media marketing, organised our first event, pitched to investors, attended Entrepreneurship Avenue, and developed the camera hardware and software, now being tested on court.

Results

During the course we moved from concept to first traction. We organised our first free padel event and tournament at the P3X club in Tulln, with seven sponsors, more than 110 registrations, and over 70 guests enjoying padel, free drinks and pizza. The event proved our community concept and gave us valuable feedback and visibility. We generated our first revenue of €50 from the event and expect two to three pilot contracts at demo pricing within three months. Our financial model shows a realistic path to break-even by the end of 2028. After four months, we have a focused MVP, a validated business model, and a clear path to building a real company.
