Welcome to our latest new members at the Department

06/10/2021

We're pleased to announce that Gerlinde Fellner-Röhling and Gabriel Felbermayr have just started their positions at our Department.

Gerlinde Fellner-Röhling is our new professor for Microeconomics and Digitalization. She is an applied microeconomist with a particular expertise in behavioral economics. In her research, she investigates how the structural changes due to the digital economy affect human decision-making and the functioning of markets. In teaching, she will also be involved in the new WU master's program in Digital Economy. Gerlinde Fellner-Röhling is joining us from the University of Ulm. Previously, she held positions at the Max Planck Institute for Economics in Jena, at the University of Bonn, also at our Department, and at the University of Cologne.

Gabriel Felbermayr is our new professor for Economic Policy. He combines his position at our department with that of director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). Gabriel Felbermayr’s main areas of interest are international economics, international trade and economic policy. Prior to joining our department, he was the president of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, as well as professor of economics and economic policy at the University of Kiel. In the last years, he has worked extensively on issues related to international economic integration, the consequences of trade agreements or the welfare effects of immigration, just to name a few topics.

We are very much looking forward to working with you!
