After a welcome address by Harald Badinger, Vice Rector for Finance and Campus Management at WU, Bettina Fuhrmann, head of the Competence Center for Financial Education, presented the center's research and teaching projects and team.

Jürgen Seifried from the University of Mannheim and Bettina Fuhrmann then emphasized the importance of cooperation in financial education.

In the subsequent panel discussion,

• politics – represented by Christoph Wiederkehr (Federal Minister of Education) and Barbara Eibinger-Miedl (State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance)

• schools – represented by Hannah Scheidl (Federal School Representative) and

• research – represented by Dirk Loerwald (University of Oldenburg), Stefan Pichler (WU Wien), and Bettina Fuhrmann (WU Wien)

discussed the importance of financial education and how to achieve financial literacy from an interdisciplinary perspective.
