Guidelines for posters and posterslam at the ALA 2016 Conference: Thursday, July 21, 4.30 pm – 6 pm
The posterslam will be the first part of the poster session. Each presenter will have one minute (60 seconds) to pitch his/her poster. For the purpose of these flash presentations, each presenter may only project one slide. Please send your slide before June 30th to email@example.com.
The slide must contain at least the names of the authors and the title of the poster. Please provide the slide as a PDF file and make sure that the display format is 4:3 (the default setting of most presentation software). Please note that the bottom-right corner will be used to display a countdown in the last 10 seconds of your presentation.
All slides will be integrated into one deck. This transition from slide to slide will be automated and does not allow for delays. Thus, we would like to kindly ask you to make sure your speech fits the one-minute slot.
After the poster slam, the conference will move to the room where the posters will be on display. The attendees will have about 60 minutes to stroll around and discuss the posters with their authors.
Each poster must be A0 in size. Vertical orientation is strongly recommended.
We plan to hang the posters on the 21 July (Thursday morning) before the first session of the day. This means we will collect the posters that morning at 8:45 or the day before, for those that will take part in opening keynote. If you plan to arrive after the beginning of the conference, please let us know so that we can plan accordingly.
If you want to print your poster directly in Vienna, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can provide you with addresses of copy shops around the campus that can print your poster for around € 35. Please let us know well in advance if you are going to print your poster here in Vienna.
