The Knowledge Hub for Emerging Markets and CEE

  • Pooling WU's expertise in emerging economies and the CEE region

  • Compiling of expert knowledge, regional expertise and cutting-edge research 

  • Seeking synergies within WU

  • Cooperating with associated members in various areas

  • Exchanging and cooperating with stakeholders in Austria, the CEE region, emerging economies globally

Networking and Dissemination

  • Strengthening WU's national and international visibility in domain-specific networks

  • Expanding and deepening cooperation with other universities

  • Monitoring and disseminating research

  • Organizing and supporting dissemination events

Research and Teaching Engagement

  • Supporting associated members’ research

  • Serving as a Second Hub for PhD students from emerging economies

  • Identifying research-funding opportunities

  • Implementing teaching programs with domain focus

  • Monitoring WU’s teaching focused on emerging economies and CEE

South-East Asia
  • ASEA-UNINET representation and dissemination 

  • Second Hub for PhD Students (open to all young scholars originating from emerging economies or focusing their research on emerging markets; currently consisting of members from South-East Asia)

Africa
  • Master Class Africa (currently in development)

  • Africa-UniNet representation and dissemination

  • Identifying external stakeholders and relevant partners in the region

  • Supporting the International Office and the Dean for International Affairs in developing new partner universities in the African region
