WIK Group

The WIK Group is a global manufacturer of small household appliances and a driving force behind the development of environmentally friendly technologies for the circular economy. Founded in Germany in the 1950s, the company is now headquartered in Lucerne and employs around 4,000 people, including 350 engineers. As a global full-service development and manufacturing partner, WIK collaborates with numerous international brands. In 2019, the WIK Group founded the independent NGO Free The Sea, which is dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems and affected coastal communities. Its focus is on waste management in informal settlements in Indonesia, as well as the collection, recycling, and reuse of plastics. Together with WIK's business units, Free The Sea is developing ways to give the collected material a second life cycle by using it in WIK products.
