Catharina Knobloch is Teaching and Research Associate at the Institute for Family Business. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and subsequently obtained a master’s degree in Accounting, Organizations, and Institutions from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

After completing her studies, she began her professional career in management consulting at Simon-Kucher & Partners, where she gained experience in strategic and analytical consulting. She then joined the family business, the CKV GROUP (siwacht & hellrein), where she has served as Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the past 7 years. In this role, she analyzes existing business processes and transforms them using artificial intelligence to increase efficiency and automation.

Her research interests lie in the areas of NextGen and innovation in family businesses. Her research focuses on the conceptual foundations of innovation in the context of family businesses. In particular, she examines governance-related factors that promote or hinder innovation, as well as microeconomic dynamics within family businesses that shape their capacity for innovation.
