Siemens Academy of Life

In spring 2016 the Social Entrepreneurship Center was commissioned by Siemens Austria to redesign and implement the Academy of Life. Siemens Academy of Life, established in 1999, is a programme for further training and capacity building of internal (Siemens Austria) as well as external management staff. The programme aims at introducing the strategies for success of well-known individuals from all over the world to young entrepreneurs as well as established executives of the Austrian economic sector.

Each year Siemens Academy of Life hosts two gala events with national and international participants. In two previous as well as one subsequent workshop the members of the Academy are given the opportunity to meet various well-known experts, discuss personal and current professional challenges and gain insights valuable for their personal and professional development. For this purpose approximately 100 members work together in groups of fifteen to seventeen people with guidance of an experienced team of trainers.

Applied didactic and methodological principles include interaction and curiosity, action and reflection, connectivity and autonomy. The Social Entrepreneurship Center is responsible for content development and implementation of all three workshops as well as coordination of the team of trainers. The cooperation partners agreed to collaborate until the end of the summer semester 2017 for the time being, but are looking to extend their cooperation by one year in case of successful realisation.
