Supervision of Doctoral Theses

The group also supervises Doctoral Theses in the field of educational science. Supervision is subject to prior agreement with ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Erna Nairz. A thesis proposal must be submitted prior to an initial meeting. Supervision is provided exclusively for topics that fall within the field of educational science.

Dissertation Concept

The dissertation concept should clearly outline the dissertation project and demonstrate that the doctoral candidate is capable of designing and implementing the dissertation project independently. In terms of form and language, the proposal should be generally flawless and comprise at least 30 pages.

It is structured as follows:

          1. Introduction with a clear research question

          2. Overview of relevant academic literature

          3. Identification of research gaps

          4. Description of the research design and methodology

          5. Timetable

          6. List of references/bibliography

It is the responsibility of doctoral candidates to acquire the necessary skills for drafting the proposal and carrying out the dissertation independently, for example through self-study or seminars.
