Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Mario joined the Institute for International Business as a Research Associate in the Department of Global Business and Trade in July 2026. He holds a Master’s degree in Export and Internationalization Management from Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna). He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at WU Vienna with specializations in Finance and SME Management. Besides his studies, Mario gained practical experience in the financial sector and management consulting. He also has teaching experience at universities.

Research interest

Mario’s research interests focus on strategic change in international business. His research examines foreign divestments and the strategic decisions associated with international restructuring activities. In particular, he explores how organizations redeploy and reconfigure resources in the context of foreign divestment.
