Awarding of the IQAM Best Paper Prize 2025

This year's IQAM Best Paper Prize went to Brent Kitchens, Robert Parham and Christopher Yung for their paper "Is news really news?

At the 52nd Annual Meeting of the European Finance Association (EFA) in Paris, the IQAM Best Paper Prize for outstanding scientific work was awarded for the 15th consecutive year.

Thirty-eight academics from the most prestigious universities in Europe, the USA and Asia sat on the jury and selected the best paper for the IQAM Best Paper Prize from among all those published in the journal ‘Review of Finance’ over the past year.

The authors Brend Kitchens, Robert Parham and Chris Yung (all from the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia) examined how corporate reporting regulations, in particular the US Regulation Fair Disclosure and the European Market Abuse Directive, have changed the role of corporate news.
